2026 is almost here! Join us in January

The information environment in 2025 is non-stop. There are endless options to consume, produce and disseminate information, and changing attitudes and habits around when and where to get reliable news. Local publishers, radio and TV stations are fighting for survival. This panel discussion hosted by the Alaska Center for Excellence in Journalism, in partnership with the Alaska Press Club, will discuss some of the threats to editorial independence in Alaska, why local news is so important to communities, how changing funding and consumer habits are affecting local news availability, what’s being done to innovate, and how citizens can support a healthy information environment. Share with us your place in the information space, and which media you consume and trust, and why.
